These Best Anytime Sugar Cookies are ideal for any event. They have a buttery and sweet flavor that everyone enjoys, as well as a soft and chewy texture. Whether you decorate them with your favorite sprinkles or leave them plain, they'll be a hit!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup 2 sticks unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Optional: food coloring, sprinkles, or decorating sugar

Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 350F 175C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper

In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy

Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter-sugar mixture, and mix until well combined

In a separate bowl, whisk together the baking powder, all-purpose flour, and salt

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing well after each addition

If desired, add a few drops of food coloring to the dough and mix until the color is evenly distributed

Roll the cookie dough into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on the prepared baking sheet
